I don’t speak Dutch, but luckily every sign at the Amsterdam airport is in English. It’s like being in Manchester!

Even if you don’t speak Dutch you’ll be fine. Virtually everyone speaks near perfect English as they are taught it from a young age.
Alsjeblieft (al-sheb-leeft), please, though bitte is quite common in some parts.

I’m just passing through, I have to go to France

Ah. France is very nice too. Depending on where you go I've found it is pretty easy to get on in English as long as you are friendly about it. My French is basically non-existent beyond a few phrases, but I've been there twice with no issues. Beautiful country, great people.

I find in Sweden that ja, nej and “jag talar inte svenska” are often handy. That and bluff. I’ve just ordered lunch while only using the word for haddock (kolja, mercifully easy to pronounce) and pretending to understand the cashier by picking out words I recognised.

Are they only in English? I arrived in Skavsta, Ryanair’s version of Stockholm, last week and the signs were bilingual, med svenska först.

I love that KLM livery so hard. And the 777 is so good looking.

Jag pratar bara lite svenska, endast hej och hej då. Generally gets a little smile and understanding in my experience :P.

Some bilingual, but English only was the norm.

Was KLM taken over by Howard Johnson’s?
